While it might’ve been cursed for someone else, the Raw Women’s Championship meant everything to Bianca Belair. She has etched her name in the history books as the longest holder of that gold. Last month at WWE Night of Champions, her magnificent run was ended by Asuka. Two weeks later, WWE officially retired the Raw Women’s Title, giving it a revamped look and branding.
While scrolling on the official WWE website, the newly introduced Women’s Championship will carry on the lineage of Raw Women’s Title. Hence, the company hasn’t erased its history. Just that they’ve got rid of the old branding. Anyways, that Women’s Championship is currently held by the Empress of Tomorrow – Asuka.
Now, The EST of WWE, who had an emotional connect with the previous gold, has tweeted out something that everyone needs to look upon. She expressed how the journey went for her while holding that title around her waist. Doesn’t matter if that caused a bruise to her eye, or even trickled blood from her body. At the end of the day, Belair scripted history with that strap, and she’s proud & grateful of that journey.
Bianca Belair is gunning for a rematch against Asuka
As seen on SmackDown last week, The EST cleared her intentions for a rematch against Asuka. To serve the exact purpose, she even approached Adam Pearce. While he didn’t specify a particular date for the rematch, Pearce assured Bianca Belair that she’ll have her shot soon enough.
Later on, Charlotte Flair marked her WWE return and straightway confronted Asuka. After realizing there’s a new title in the town, Flair couldn’t help but to lay down a challenge towards the Japanese wrestler for the gold. Also, their match was made official for the go-home SmackDown episode for Money in the Bank.
So now, Asuka and Flair will rekindle their stored past to slug it out at the O2 arena in London. Amidst all the chaos, Bianca Belair once again went to Adam Pearce to let the official explain his actions. However, he slid away from the scenes by promising the same thing once again – and that’s a rematch for her.
