Bianca Belair is one of the few superstars who have had extremely popular runs in both NXT and the WWE’s Main Roster. Bianca Belair is very young and is already feuding with the company’s greatest female wrestlers like Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair. Also she is that rare superstar who can boast of winning two consecutive matches at the grandest stage of them all-WrestleMania.
She main evented WrestleMania against Sasha Banks and won the Smackdown women’s championship by successfully defeating Sasha Banks and she repeated the same thing at this year’s show of shows as well. She faced off against Becky Lynch and put her down to emerge as the Raw Women’s Champion. Many say that the WWE is extremely impressed by Bianca Belair’s in-ring style and her skills on the mic as well and therefore she is given an extreme amount of air time.
How did Bianca Belair get her nickname?
Bianca Belair is also known as the EST of WWE however many people know how this nickname actually got caught on. Therefore when Bianca was asked about how she got her nickname she narrated how she got the nickname and dispelled the mystery surrounding it.
Bianca Belair said that when she started out as a young superstar in WWE and figuring out who she wanted to be, she wanted a name that symbolised her in an extremely concise way but she wasn’t able to find just that one word that encapsulated her entire persona.
She felt she was fast, she also felt that she was tough and rough, she felt she was quick so in essence she felt she was a lot of things. But wisdom dawned on her and she thought all these words- roughest, strongest, quickest end with EST and EST rhymed with NXT so she decided to keep that as her nickname.
This is what she said in an interview with WJBF: “It was when I first started in WWE, I was trying to figure out who I wanted to be and I was kind of all over the place because I knew that I needed to simplify who I was so that people would be able to understand it very easily and quickly, but I was like I’m not just one thing, you know I’m not just strong, I’m also fast, and I’m also tough, and I’m rough, and I’m quick and I’m the best at a lot of things.
I can’t just narrow it down. So, I was like I’m the strongest, the fastest, the roughest, the toughest, the quickest, the greatest, the best, hold up, all of these things end in EST, and then EST at the time rhymed with NXT, so I became the EST of NXT, now I’m the EST of WWE. So, it was me kind of being all over the place and now it’s simplified all down to the EST,”
