“If I had died in the ring” Big E reflects upon the question of ever competing in a WWE ring again

“If I had died in the ring” Big E reflects upon the question of ever competing in a WWE ring again

Big E is inarguably one of the most talented stars on the roster right now. The 36-year-old Triple Crown Champion, is, however, currently out of action due to a neck injury. The “blue-brand” top-star sustained the injury on the March 11 episode of “Smackdown” while receiving a belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland after directly landing on his head outside the ring. In a recent interview with The MMA Hour, he addressed the question if he would be able to wrestle again or not.

Big E said that when he got injured he was told that he’ll be able to make a return to the ring after 3 months but as the months passed the injury kept getting worse and worse. After a 12-week scan, it was revealed that his C1 had healed but he was still not fit to make a complete in-ring return. Also, the former WWE Champion reflected on how he perceives life after not getting to compete in a WWE ring for such a long time.

Big E says that WWE has taken a care of him while paying all his medical expenses as well.

Big E said- “When I got hired, I was 23 … I think it was a time in my life where if I had died in the ring, cool. I got to do what I love, and I went out there in the ring. Now at 36, having worked through a lot of those things and being mentally healthier, this job has allowed me to meet so many different people from so many different walks of life and have so many different experiences.” (H/T- Wrestling Inc.)

In the same interview, the New Day member revealed that he is being treated well and there have been no medical expenses on his end. He added that he has been taken care of by the company in a great manner. Big E said- “Yeah, I’m still getting paid, I have no complaints with the way they have taken care of me. I’ve been paid very regularly. (h/t-fightful.com).

He also revealed that he can return to television in a different role if not for competing in the ring but would have to be a role that would make sense for him. In an earlier interview, the former champion had also said that he’ll be contented if he never steps in a WWE ring again. Big E would be seen helping at the college tryouts to be held in Nashville on June 29, selecting the fate of future WWE superstars.
