“That might be a reason,” 58-year-old legend comes up with a robust argument that could drive CM Punk’s return to WWE
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has listed a few reasons that CM Punk might possess to propel his return to WWE.

Even when CM Punk was doing commentary for a MMA show in Orlando last night, he made quite the headlines. Rumors of Punk’s potential return to WWE once again took over the internet. Though the current notion speaks against it, Booker T does have a strong theory that could lead to Punk’s WWE comeback.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the 5-time WCW Champion weighed in on The Second City Saint’s chances. According to Booker T, if CM Punk were to return to WWE, he would do that to “throw it in the face of Tony Khan and WWE.” The HOF’er implied that no wrestler would stay content with the way CM Punk’s last AEW match fared.
“You don’t want to have your last match and it ended like it did in AEW. That’s not what you want. That might be a reason why, to come and say, ‘Maybe I did need to look in the mirror. Maybe it was me. Maybe I want to change,” said Booker T.
Therefore, to redeem his legacy, CM Punk might just give WWE another shot. However, keeping in mind how things went between Punk and AEW, it looks a bit precarious. As a result, the NXT commentator questioned whether Punk’s problematic personality would be ready to put his ego aside.
Needless to say, CM Punk’s AEW run was replete with controversies. Although he did capture the World Championship twice, the title reigns were forgettable. Tony Khan was having a hard time maintaining the detente between Punk and some of his combustible exponents.
WWE does not want the fans to have unreal expectations about CM Punk
These days, false information spreads like wildfire on social media. Some troll accounts pass the narratives, often done to create unnecessary hubbub among the fans. The same is the case with CM Punk and WWE. Per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE officials don’t want Punk to return at this moment. As revealed by WON, Vince McMahon decided on the matter alongside Nick Khan and Triple H.
WWE feels that the former AEW star will return to the company if presented with an offer. However, that’s not happening for now, and the promotion doesn’t want the fans to have unrealistic expectations. Recently, subtle teases on television, viz. Shinsuke Nakamura using the GTS on Raw, had the fans aligned under the notion that Punk is returning.
Corey Graves, too, had to clarify his statements, which he made while on commentary that were linked to CM Punk. However, it’s not like Punk’s WWE return is an impossible scenario and could never happen. It is seemingly destined to happen at some point with the Stamford-based promotion.
