This week, Jinder Mahal shocked the world as he was trending on social media overnight. It all started when AEW President Tony Khan obnoxiously criticized his booking at WWE. It was a bizarre reaction coming from the president of a professional wrestling company. Recently, Booker T presented his take on the situation as he defended Jinder.
On his Hall of Fame podcast, the five-time World Champion stated that it was unprofessional for Tony to criticize The Modern Day Maharaja on the basis of his win-loss record. The WWE Hall of Famer added that professional wrestling is all about entertainment. According to him, it’s high time Khan understood the business carefully.
You don’t have to be a winner to get a title shot. Especially in professional wrestling, it’s all about the entertainment more than anything. I think, from my perspective, that’s the only thing it’s always been about as far as this business goes is entertainment and for Tony Khan to really start to look at this business like that, it concerns me more than anything.Booker T on Tony Khan
Moreover, the legend also praised Mahal for his recent work. He expressed that there is a reason why The Modern Day Maharaja has been put in this particular position on Raw. Besides, Booker also defended the title shot of Jinder, saying that it was all about entertainment.
The Modern Day Maharaja gloated about his achievements a few days ago on WWE’s The Bump show. He is all set to face Seth Rollins next week on Raw for the World Heavyweight Championship. Only time will tell if he will be able to pull off a victory against The Visionary.
Jinder Mahal makes drastic change to his X profile
Jinder Mahal has been a hot topic recently. He has achieved extreme popularity within a few days. After his controversy with Tony Khan, Jinder looks to capitalize on this popularity. He has changed his name along with the bio on X. This move has been making a lot of headlines heading into his match against Seth Rollins.
Mahal updated his name on X to Maharaja. It looks like he will be going forward with the same moniker. The 37-year-old superstar has shortened his moniker from Modern Day Maharaja to just Maharaja. Moreover, the former WWE Champion has also updated his bio with a goat emoji.
It looks like Mahal is considering himself the greatest of all time from now on. The Indian superstar made headlines with a huge upset earlier as well. It is going to be interesting to see if he is going to pull the same upset once again as well.
