Sami Zayn defeated three superstars, including fan favorite Chad Gable, on Raw to earn himself a title opportunity. However, even after a hard-fought victory, he was seemingly upset with the result. WWE Hall of Famer Booker T discussed Zayn’s mood after the match.
Booker T stated during his Hall of Fame podcast that Sami Zayn was upset with the heat received from fans following the finish. The five-time world champion voiced his opinion, telling him he shouldn’t worry about what people say. Instead, Booker told Zayn to be satisfied with the fact that the match was great.

Zayn won the gauntlet match by eliminating Bronson Reed, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Chad Gable. The leader of the Alpha Academy was the fan favorite, and almost everybody wanted him to challenge Gunther once again. However, Zayn’s win left fans in utter disappointment as Gable once again failed to gain an opportunity.
But he still, like I said, was feeling that heat. He let someone down just because the fans didn’t think the match was as good as, you know. I thought it was.Booker T on Sami Zayn via Hall of Fame podcast
Zayn will now fight Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania. Despite that, many fans are still hoping to get another match between arch-rivals Gable and The Ring General. It will be interesting to see whether the former Tag Team Champion earns another chance to be added to the match or not.
Gunther sends a warning to Sami Zayn ahead of their match at WrestleMania 40
It looked like Sami Zayn’s win in the Gauntlet match on Raw didn’t impress Gunther at all. When the match was over, he came out to look at the carnage all six superstars had created and had a smirk on his face, knowing that Zayn was his opponent. The Ring General expressed his opinion about the former Honorary Uce winning on social media.

The 36-year-old took to X and claimed that the Canadian was not on his level. He has already defeated Zayn in a fantastic non-title match on the June 26 episode of Raw. Gunther showed his arrogance by stating that Zayn beating him is too unrealistic of an outcome.
I do not believe Sami Zayn has what it takes to be in my position, it is unrealistic! Good luck, Sami.Gunther on X
After he lost to Randy Orton in the Elimination Chamber qualifying match, all the doors for Zayn were seemingly closed. However, he found a way and earned himself a ticket to WrestleMania by winning the No. 1 contender gauntlet match. It will be interesting to see whether he manages to walk out as the new Intercontinental Champion and end Gunther’s dominant title reign.
