Cody Rhodes has brought in a lot of excitement in fans after his return to WWE. The American Nightmare returned to the company at WrestleMania 38. With his surprise return, Rhodes took the passion for WWE in fans a lot higher. 

On his return, Rhodes faced one of the best performers of the industry, Seth Rollins. In a fantastic rivalry, the two men pulled out some of the best matches in WWE history. The saga between the two men ended up with 3 matches. Rhodes was victorious in all of them but Rollins had the last laugh.

Cody Rhodes was brutally attacked by Seth Rollins on Raw after Hell in a Cell. The American Nightmare was sidelined with an injury after that. But the rehabilitation procedure was longer than what the fans expected.

With some positive updates, Rhodes is expected to return very soon. His wife, Brandi Rhodes, has given an update on his return. In an interview on Steve Fall’s Ten Count, she said that Cody Rhodes was ready to return to the ring. The only thing that was not there was a confirmation from the doctors.

“He needs to wrestle. It’s in his blood. It’s part of his makeup. But now, he’s been great through all of this. All of the work that he’s been doing to get back has been really good…. So he looks like the same Cody to me. The muscle mass is all there, you know, he looks ready to me, but I’m not a doctor.”

Cody Rhodes has a long list of dream opponents awaiting his return

The American Nightmare has a list of superstars that the fans want him to face on his return. Rhodes is expected to return and win the Men’s Royal Rumble match in 2023. With an enormous victory, Rhodes could have the spotlight on him. 

A match with the World Champion at WrestleMania could be the greatest one in his career. Fans want Rhodes to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. But the plans could not be like the fans want. After Reigns being rumored to face the Rock, Rhodes facing him could not be in the books.

While a match with Rollins may repeat the storylines, fans want another banger from the two men. Cody Rhodes could put some more interesting rivalries upon his return. But things may be different if the recovery is not seen as per the expected period.
