NXT is currently on fire due to multiple reasons. The increased number of PLEs, the return of multiple main roster stars to NXT programming, and the recent victory over AEW Dynamite in the ratings war are also among the top reasons. The creatives at NXT are now planning on spicing things up for their upcoming Halloween havoc. Under the current plan, Gigi Dolin and Blair Davenport will have a Lights Out match next week. This will be only the second match in NXT history.
Dolin and Davenport had the chance to roll the wheel to decide the stipulation for their match on NXT. On the wheel, they were told that they would be having a Lights Out match next week at Halloween Havoc. The concept of the match is new to NXT fans, as they have only had the match once before this. A Lights Out match is an unsanctioned fight between the two wrestlers, and the fight can happen anywhere.
Used relatively more in AEW, it often involves blood and extreme brutality. However, showing blood on WWE programming does not happen. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how WWE works a lights-out match on NXT.
The match will also serve as a conclusive chapter in the rivalry between Dolin and Davenport. The two have been proving their talents on NXT and have impressed a lot of fans. Therefore, fans can hope to see either one of the two or both superstars make the promotion to the main roster soon. Now that Triple H is in the main position on the main roster, a lot of NXT stars are getting the deserved spotlight.

Who won the first-ever Lights Out match in NXT?
Gigi Dolin and Blair Davenport will have the second Lights Out match in NXT at Halloween Havoc next week. Therefore, fans are wondering which was the first match with the stipulation to take place under the Black and Gold brand. Surprisingly, NXT had not done a Lights Out match until 2022. In August 2022, Tiffany Stratton and Wendy Choo faced each other in their rubber match to close off the rivalry.
As the rivalry had to have a banger finish, it was announced that the two women would have a lights-out match. Therefore, on the August 23rd episode of NXT, Wendy Choo defeated Tiffany Stratton, ending their feud in a violent lights-out match. This being a new stipulation in NXT, it was met with a good response from the fans.
However, smaller promotions like AEW and other indies have more Lights Out matches. The most popular matches with the stipulation from AEW are Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley from Full Gear 2019 and Dr. Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rose from St. Patrick’s Day’s Slam 2021. Both matches garnered great reactions from the fans. Therefore, both WWE and AEW can try out new stipulations and variations in the match.
