“I don’t give a S**T about your kids” When Brock Lesnar went off script in a promo to baffle WWE star

Brock Lesnar has always been a force to reckon with in WWE. The Beast Incarnate has decimated his opponents whenever he has gone head to head with someone. Though Lesnar for majority of his career has been accompanied by Paul Heyman who acts as a mouthpiece for him delivering most of his promos, there have been some moments where Lesnar has proved why he is one of the best trash talkers in the company.
Lesnar has gone over the board many times in his career while delivering a promo and one of the most infamous examples of this was the promo in which he baffled Heath Slater through a line which was supposedly not in the script. In 2016, Heath Slater’s contract had expired with WWE and he was a free agent on the roster. Thus, after a lot of efforts Slater finally earned an opportunity to earn a WWE contract.

But he didn’t know that he would have to face The Beast himself in order to get a contract. However, Slater proceeded to the ring and challenged Lesnar for a match by delivering a promo that even though he knew that Brock Lesnar would easily squash him but he needed to do it for his family and his kids. As soon as Brock heard this line, he grabbed the mic and spoke- “I don’t give a s**t about your kids”
While the line was cold and brutal, Heath’s reaction was enough to tell that it wasn’t a planned spot and Lesnar had gone off script. Lesnar would then proceed to annihilate Slater and deliver an F-5 to seal the deal. Slater in an interview later revealed that actually Brock was supposed to say the line but using different choice of words.
Slater while appearing on a podcast with Table Talk Heath said- “That segment put me on the map, but slapped me in my face too, literally. The whole, ‘I don’t give a shit about your kids’ was supposed to be ‘I don’t give a damn about your kids.” Heath explained that he forgot his line while delivering his promo and then would carry it on the fly as he would start delivering the promo on the spot.
This would lead to Slater saying lines like-“I have Kids to feed” to which Lesnar infamously replied- ” I don’t give a s**t about your kids”. While the moment was impromptu, it worked for Slater as it was received very well backstage and even got Slater his first singles merchandise T-shirt which had “I got kids” printed on it. While recalling Vince McMahon‘s reaction to the whole segment Slater said- “Next thing I know, I catch Vince in the back and he’s like, ‘Woah, I got kids, I need this job. Print that out!'”
