UFC 296 aired live on December 16, 2023, and lived up to its hype for a month. The MMA event was stacked with 12 matches and was hosted by T-Mobile Arena.

Even though the bouts were planned, a brawl broke out between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis, who sat in the audience that night. On this very incident, Bronson Reed wrote his thoughts and lauded Strickland for the gutsy performance, which, although misinterpreted by AEW fans.

The post by Reed said Sean should have the dog in him. The fact that he stood up to shut the mouth of his forthcoming opponent was respectable for Bronson. But in his post, he mentioned only the last name, Strickland, which got interpreted as AEW superstar Swerve Strickland. The rivalry between WWE and AEW has been note-worthy for years, and fans thought of this as a shock move from Reed.

But the bubbles of these fans, who even commented on Swerve’s catchphrase, Whose House?, were burst by Bronson later on. A post that replied to his previous message clarified that it was directed at the UFC. It was pretty obvious for the wrestling fans to have thought of The High Octane Star instead of Sean.

Sean’s brawl made it to the news and hyped his upcoming bout with Dricus at UFC 297. The event scheduled for Scotiabank Arena in Toronto will see the UFC return to Canada after five years. Amidst this confusion, it was clarified that Bronson is a MMA fan too and could expect more such comments.

Swerve Strickland suffered a controversial loss against former WWE star Jon Moxley

The AEW Continental Classic Tournament is on the line now and has reached a crucial stage. The six matches from each league will end with both toppers squaring off at World’s End for the inaugural AEW Triple Crown Champion. As of now, the Blue League has been good for Jon Moxley, with 12 points.

Although the recent three points Moxley scored came against Swerve Strickland, The awaited match was a banger and had the crowd go gaga over chants. An infamous kiss between both stars also remains a sight to behold for wrestling. But the ending was something that disappointed the AEW universe.

A roll-up pinfall victory for Jon was underwhelming at this stage. The moment happened due to Moxley countering Strickland’s move and getting under his feet for a pinfall. But the position of both stars disallowed the referee to see that Swerve had his shoulder raised at the very moment, which would have broken the pin.
