It’s been just over a week since Bray Wyatt left for the heavens. In the meantime, the wrestling fraternity has witnessed numerous heartwarming tributes to the deceased. Not only in WWE, superstars from AEW have also jumped on the bandwagon. The latest addition to that list is Bryan Danielson, who returned from an injury last night at AEW Collision.

Tonight, during the Zero Hour of AEW All Out, Danielson cut a passionate promo, warning Starks about their upcoming showdown. The 42-year-old screamed that the last time he was in a strap match, it was against someone he loved. The American Dragon made a direct reference to his Royal Rumble match against ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt, in 2020. The former leader of the Yes movement described how they tore the house down.

Bryan got to his match against Starks less than 24 hours ago. He interrupted the contract signing between the self-proclaimed Stroke Daddy and Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat for their originally assumed strap match at All Out. However, the agreement only had ‘The Dragon’ inscribed over it, paving the way for ‘The American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson, to take Steamboat’s spot. It was noted that the former Daniel Bryan returned earlier than everyone was expecting.

Before that, Bryan last wrestled at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in Toronto. He took on “The Rainmaker,” Kazuchika Okada, which ended in Japanese favor. It was an ultimate dream match for many fans, and both men didn’t disappoint at all. Danielson came out with the iconic theme from his early Ring of Honor days: The Final Countdown. On the other hand, The Rainmaker’s coin drop was enough to pop the sold-out crowd at the Scotiabank Arena.

AEW and the rest of the wrestling universe are still feeling the ill effects of CM Punk’s release. Nonetheless, Tony Khan now needs a strong attraction for his Saturday night show, Collision. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful had previously reported that Bryan Danielson would fill in the recently created void. Now, the mentioned source has a follow-up as well. The current working plan is to have the American Dragon play an integral role.

Fightful also mentioned how Danielson lent his assistance to AEW Creative before the injury. Seemingly, the promotion wants him in a similar kind of role for Collision, in particular. Needless to say, the former World Champion has a better understanding of this business, quite possibly more than anyone over there at AEW at the moment. For sure, Bryan would juggle between an on-screen role and his creative mind.
