The WWE Universe is aware of how big of a fan Carmelo Hayes is of LA Lakers. Hayes has always mentioned LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant as his inspirations. They have been the driving force behind his energy throughout his matches. Considering this, Melo underwent a peculiar moment on Sunday after his match.
The NXT Champion successfully defended his title against Bron Breakker. Following his victory, he sat down backstage with his title in his hand, pondering his journey. NXT’s social media team captured a photograph of this moment. Moreover, Carmelo Hayes posted the photo on Twitter with an ardent caption.
The tweet not only had his picture but also featured an iconic image of Kobe Bryant alongside it. The popular photo was of Kobe’s 2001 NBA Finals win with the trophy in his hand. Both of these photos bore great resemblance to Melo’s surprise. While the NBA star was contemplating, Hayes was in that thought process too.
The 28-year-old defined his moment as a career-evaluating situation. Hayes wrote, “Sat there for like 15 min reflecting on the journey.” Whereas Kobe’s photo was taken off during one of his sadder periods despite his win. Still, the NXT Champion mentioned it as a similar one because of the same energy.
Carmelo Hayes, who is a big fan of Kobe Bryant, even wrote one of Kobe’s thoughts in his way, saying, “Jobs not done.” He referred to his title reign and hinted that it would be longer than one could think. The NXT Champion believes that he has much to achieve yet and that he has just begun.
