There has been a lot of buzz ever since Logan Paul announced the tournament for the prestigious United States Championship. What remained at the center of this buzz was the surprise entrant that would arrive from NXT. Former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes teased his appearance in the tournament a few weeks ago. It turns out it is going to be all true.
The vacant spot against Grayson Waller has been changed. In a recent post on ‘X’, fans can see Melo has filled the spot. It turns out this has caught the A-Champ by surprise. Replying to the same post, he mentioned how he was joking earlier with the spinner US Title. Interestingly, the tease eventually ended up happening.
I was just joking when I posted myself with the US spinner title, now I'm forreal in the tournament. I don't miss ?Carmelo Hayes (via X)
Hayes and Waller have both squared up against each other on many occasions. Their NXT Championship match at NXT Spring Breakin’ 2022 was a ‘banger’. While Melo managed to retain his NXT title successfully back then, it would be interesting to see whether the Arrogant Aussie has any surprises up his sleeve.
Trick Williams reacts to Carmelo Hayes added to the US Title Tournament
NXT fans were thrilled when they saw the video of Shawn Michaels announcing that Carmelo Hayes was going to be in the US Title Tournament. It seems one of the hottest superstars in NXT, Trick Williams, has something to say about it. He took to ‘X’ to share the announcement and express his opinion on it.
Let's talk about it.Trick Williams (via X)
For those who don’t know, Williams has earned a massive opportunity for himself. He defeated the likes of Dijak, Josh Briggs, Tyler Bate, and Bron Breakker in the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline. He finally has the opportunity to make his mark against the NXT Champion, Ilja Dragunov.
Williams remains haunted by the mystery attacker’s identity, despite Lexis King clearing his name on NXT Deadline. This week, Williams discussed the issue with the NXT Champion, only for Carmelo to interrupt him, accusing Dragunov. The confrontation ended with Dragunov and Melo pulling the NXT Title, which ended up being thrown in Williams’ face.
