Carmelo Hayes is one of the top-rising NXT superstars who isn’t far from joining the main roster. Hayes has won it all on the NXT brand and is now on the verge of joining the main roster. Recently, he talked about possibly joining Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits on SmackDown.

The 29-year-old spoke with VIBE, where he was asked about his relationship with other superstars and whether he would like to join the ‘Hurt Business 2.0’ or not. Melo said that it would be a great idea to include him. However, he clarified that he does not need to be a part of any faction, and if the faction wants to recruit him, they have to make a pretty good offer.

Hayes also shared that the former manager of Lashley, MVP, trained with him and helped him a lot. Melo and Lashley have had previous encounters backstage, with the latter trying to convince the former NXT Champion to join his faction.

Carmelo had an excellent showing in the U.S. Title tournament, where he was revealed to be the surprise NXT superstar. He even beat Grayson Waller in his first match on SmackDown, but unfortunately couldn’t take Kevin Owens down. As of now, he is involved in a storyline with his best friend, Trick Williams. The fans can’t wait to know whether Hayes attacked Trick or not.

Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov are not only good on the mic, but they can deliver an instant 5-star classic whenever they are together in the ring. Now, Melo reacted to his match against him at NXT No Mercy being recognized as the NXT Match Of The Year.

He took to X and praised himself and Ilja’s capabilities to deliver the enthralling encounter. The majority of the fans loved the match. Dragunov beat Melo to become the new NXT Champion, ending his 182-day title reign.

Dragunov and Hayes are both highly talented superstars, and fans are eagerly waiting for them to finally make the move. With Hayes making his debut on SmackDown, it is unlikely that Dragunov will appear on the main roster yet, as he is the current NXT Champion. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for two future world champions.
