The Ring General Gunther has been one of the most dominant champions in WWE history. There have been many superstars in his reign who have come close to defeating him but were unsuccessful. One of those names who came close to beating Gunther was Chad Gable. Recently, Gable subtly hinted at once again going for the Intercontinental Championship while revealing the importance of dethroning the champion.

The Alpha Academy leader posted a picture of his daughter crying after Gunther defeated him on Raw a few months ago. Gable wrote an interesting message to the WWE Universe, saying that defeating The Ring General means a lot more than just winning the championship for him. It was a direct call back to his loss in front of his daughter, which led to her crying on Raw.

It was a hellacious battle the last time Gunther and Gable stepped foot in a WWE ring. They went for an all-out war, which made a lot of people think that maybe the 37-year-old star could do the unthinkable. However, after a lot of efforts, Gable was unsuccessful in coming out as the winner. He then moved away from the Intercontinental title picture afterwards. Although now it looks like Gable wants to try his luck one more time against The Ring General at WrestleMania.

Besides, the Intercontinental Championship picture looks vague at the moment. There are a lot of potential challengers for The Ring General heading to WrestleMania. Names like Sami Zayn, The Miz, and even Gable are all up for an opportunity. According to some rumors and speculation, WWE might move towards a multi-person ladder match at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Gunther receives a playful warning from Dominik Mysterio

This week on Raw, Gunther had a few words to share with the WWE Universe. However, he was interrupted by The Judgment Day, where he and Dominik Mysterio had a staredown. Although they had a war of words, things got a bit heated up between him and Dominik’s faction. After the events on Raw, Dominik posted a playful statement for The Ring General.

Mysterio posted a picture of himself standing toe-to-toe with Gunther. “Dirty” Dom wrote an interesting caption, pointing out that his smile is better than the Ring General’s. It was a subtle shot at the Intercontinental Champion, as it looks like The Judgment Day member is coming after his title.
