“Don’t stick your finger in the light socket”; Chris Jericho sheds light on how MJF would be booked in WWE
Christopher Keith Irvine popularly known as Chris Jericho is the first ever Undisputed WWE Champion who currently works for All Elite Wrestling. Chris Jericho started wrestling at the age of 19 when he started training to become a wrestler. Chris Jericho made his debut in professional wrestling in 1990 against Storm in an independent show.
Chris Jericho would go on to wrestle all around the globe before finally signing with WWE in 1996. During his time with the company Y2J would go on to become the first ever Undisputed WWE Champion defeating The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the same night. During his time with WWE Chris Jericho would become 6 time WWE Champion and a 9 time WWE Intercontinental Champion.
Chris Jericho in 2017 after 15 years with the company decided to part ways after he was told to seek job somewhere else following Wrestlemania 33. Following his departure Jericho returned to the independent circuit and appeared in New Japan Pro Wrestling. After spending two years on the independent circuit Chris Jericho signed with Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling.
Jericho was crowned as the Inaugural AEW Champion when he defeated Hangman Adam Page. Chris Jericho held on the Championship for 182 days before dropping it to Jon Moxley. After losing his title Jericho would go on to recruit MJF in the Inner Circle after a match between the two which MJF ended winning.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is a former MLW World Middleweight Champion who currently works for WWE. MJF is known for his immaculate skills on the mic and also for his wrestling style. MJF rose to fame after his debut in AEW and was elevated to next level after his feud with Chris Jericho. The AEW star in a recent promo on dynamite expressed his wish to leave the company owing to some issues. Chris Jericho in an new interview with “talksport“ on how a character like MJF would fare in WWE :
“Oh absolutely, [his character would be watered down in WWE]. He’s better off staying in AEW. But, again, don’t stick your finger in the light socket. You tell a little kid not to do that and they’re going to do it to see what happens.”
Jericho went ot say that in pro wrestling wrestlers often switch promotions to check where they stand in the industry and how much they have grown :
“I did it to come to AEW. I walked away from WWE. When I signed my AEW contract Vince McMahon said ‘Can you get out of it?’ – No, you told me to go here!“
“Same thing happened when I left WCW to come to WWE. Sometimes you got to take a chance and if you believe in yourself and you feel you aren’t getting your dues, then you got to go elsewhere,” Jericho said
The want away star MJF would be a gain for any company that he works for. Only time will tell where the young wrestlers ends up working.
