AEW Superstar Christian Cage talked to “Swerve City Podcast” about the factors that make a great heel or villain in pro wrestling. Christian talked about the late WWE superstar, The Iron Sheikh, and praised him for getting money-drawing heat that generated a lot of revenue from the fans. He mentioned that the Iron Sheikh was a true villain and a trailblazer.

Christian mentioned that it’s not that easy to become a good heel. He said that a superstar needs to have no redeeming qualities or remorse in order to be a true villain in the company. The 49-year-old has been a superb heel in AEW since he turned on Jungle Boy Jack. He gets a lot of hate and boos from the fans lately, which proves how much he has grown as a heel.

The former WWE superstar commented that he felt that The Iron Sheikh had his fingers on his pulse. He believes it was also crucial for his villainous persona. Moreover, Christian said that Shiek had a morsel of truth in anything he said and tried to make it more detailed to hit the fans. There is no doubt why WWE heavily gained attention and crowds from Iron Sheikh during the early days.

Iron Sheikh was a very popular wrestler back in the 1970s and 1980s, just when the WWF started. He had been a WWF World Heavyweight Champion after defeating Bob Buckland during that time. The late WWE legend had an intense rivalry with Hulk Hogan, which is quite popular among vintage fans. No wonder his recent demise in June was a huge loss to the pro wrestling world.

Christian Cage is currently one of the best heels in AEW. He had an intense rivalry with Jungle Boy Jack after he turned on him a few months ago. Most fans would remember Christian from his WWE days, when he was associated as a tag team with Edge. He has also been a WWE Heavyweight Champion and has received a lot of appreciation from the fans.

Christian Cage recently spoke about the comparisons between him and Edge on the “Swerve City Podcast.” He explained that it seemed funny to him when fans called him better than Edge or vice versa; he never got bothered by that. He has a great relationship with the Rated-R superstar and treats him like his own brother. In fact, back in the early days, Edge even stayed at Christian’s house over the weekends.

The WWE Universe would surely remember the tag team of Edge and Christian. They had won the WWE tag team titles seven times and defeated the likes of The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz.
