CJ Perry, formerly known as the “Ravishing Russian” Lana in WWE, made her AEW debut at All Out pay-per-view after her husband Miro defeated Powerhouse Hobbs. That said, the AEW star recently looked back on a ribald comment by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, which served as an impetus to establish a profitable brand of her own.

AEW star CJ Perry recently joined Chris Van Vliet for a candid interview. The 38-year-old reflected on a backstage promo with The Rock in WWE. The said promo dates back to January 25, 2016, when the latter suggested that Lana, aka Perry, had slept with him. It was the same promo where the Brahma Bull referred to CJ as “hot and flexible,” a moniker she now uses on AEW programming.

Implying that The Rock’s remarks were unwarranted, the 38-year-old said:

I mean this is the I have realized if people are going to call you names, you might as well call it yourself first, and then you, I take away all their power.

Perry stated that if people humiliated her, she called herself those names first, leaving others’ words ineffectual. Furthermore, she thanked The Rock because of whom she has started a branding under the name “Hot and Flexible.” Perry said:

Thanks Dwayne, thanks DJ.

For context, the AEW star recently opened her website. “CJPerry.com.” The site consists of a “Hot and Flexible” section offering spicy behind-the-scenes exclusive premium content of CJ Perry.

CJ Perry says she wants to follow in the footsteps of legendary Paul Heyman

CJ Perry began her career as a heel valet to her husband Miro, formerly known as Rusev in WWE. Playing an anti-American character, the former WWE superstar generated immense heel heat among the fans. Speaking of which, the 38-year-old expressed her desire to cement the same legacy as legendary wrestling manager Paul Heyman.

In the same interview, Perry was asked if she was considering making her in-ring return to AEW. Answering the question Perry said:

So I want to be the best wrestling manager of all time. I want to be when people think of like, people often want to be managed by Paul Heyman, because he is the best manager of all time right now. Right? I wanted that spot. And so I want people to be like, I want CJ Perry to manage me, I would rather do that than try to become champion and be the best hustler for those people to be champions and create a legacy and a name that way.

The AEW star clarified that she had no long-term goal of establishing herself as a full-time wrestler. Perry stated that she would rather want to be the best wrestling manager of all time, similar to Paul Heyman. She added that she aims to be on the same level as Heyman going forward. Paul Heyman is one of greatest wrestling managers of all time, having managed top stars like Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and now Roman Reigns.
