In the world of professional wrestling, the name CM Punk is surrounded by a lot of controversies, as well as a lot of love and hate from his devoted fan base. He had a very rocky history with WWE, and now that he is a part-time performer for the new promotion AEW, things are still rocky for him.
Former WWE superstar Konnan recently addressed speculations that CM Punk will return to the company after Triple H took control of the entire organization at the Keepin it 100 podcasts. Tony Khan is seeking a fair price to buy out CM Punk’s contract with AEW, therefore Punk may even be leaving the organization.
According to Konnan, it would be a very huge deal if the former WWE Champion returned to the organisation since it would be a direct jab at Tony Khan, president of AEW. This move will demonstrate that CM Punk still has a very bright future in the WWE and that he is no longer dependent on AEW.
Konnan even said that but the main problem is only that Punk was not a very good term when he decided to leave WWE which can be a reason he may not return. Konnan said, “If they were to bring CM Punk in it would be a major cool, right? And it’s a way for WWE and Punk to tell AEW ‘f**k you, okay? But from what we are hearing, he has a no-compete, so that’s not gonna happen.”
WWE does not want CM Punk back

Someone close to Triple H recently disclosed that although CM Punk’s return was first being discussed, many things turned against him and damaged his reputation. As a result, all of the preparations were quickly abandoned within the organisation.
The true reason he won’t be back is due to how he spent the previous 13 months in AEW, which demonstrates that he hasn’t improved in the behavioural department and that his comeback would be problematic. He claimed that Triple H could have brought him back even after his contentious 2014 departure.
