Drew McIntyre‘s trolls and jabs at CM Punk have come back to haunt him. Following what transpired at WrestleMania, Punk continued to cause trouble for The Scottish Warrior on Raw. In the main event, he cost McIntyre an opportunity to become the #1 contender, allowing Jey Uso to pick up the win. After the show went off the air, Punk and Uso addressed the live audience.
The Second City Saint first congratulated the former Bloodline member for his victory. Further, Punk reflected on the time he used to stay in Philadelphia and revealed that he wrestled in his first WWE PPV match there. The former World Champion showed his gratitude to the WWE Universe for their support during the historic WrestleMania weekend.
Moments later, the duo delivered on their promise, signing Jey Uso‘s boots before throwing them into the crowd. Evidently, CM Punk was in a joyful mood after screwing his arch nemesis on consecutive nights. On WrestleMania Sunday, The Best in the World broke McIntyre’s dreams and cost him the World Heavyweight Championship.
Prior to the fatal-four way match, an irate Drew McIntyre called out Punk and the new champion, Damian Priest. The 38-year-old vowed to seek revenge against both superstars and recapture the title. However, he will have to wait for a while, as Jey is now next in line to challenge The Judgment Day member. Only time will tell how the World Heavyweight title scene plays out in the future.
Is CM Punk medically cleared to compete in the ring?
While CM Punk’s appearance on Raw was a pleasant surprise, fans pointed out how he has engaged in physical altercations this weekend. Therefore, many believe that he might’ve healed from his triceps injury. The Second City Saint suffered the injury at the hands of Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble. Moreover, Punk himself confirmed that it would take him six to eight months to recover.
After removing his arm brace at WrestleMania, it seems that it is only a matter of time before his in-ring return. Obviously, The Best in the World’s first program would be against the two-time WWE Champion. As a matter of fact, the latter’s home country of Scotland seems like the perfect setting for the pair to hash out their differences.
Having said that, Glasgow will be hosting Clash At The Castle on June 15. Needless to say, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Punk and McIntyre not only compete but also headline this PLE.
