CM Punk had his triceps messed up at the worst possible time. However, the catastrophe couldn’t be averted, and he’s been sidelined for 6–8 months, as revealed by The Best in the World himself. Punk had surgery on the affected spot a couple of weeks ago. And now, he has shared an image on Instagram in which Punk could be seen underscoring the stitches, abutting the elbow.
In a recent interview, the 45-year-old affirmed that he’s not gunning to rush his in-ring return. However, he’s rushing to regain salubrity as soon as he can. The fans are already feeling Punk’s void on WWE television. Hadn’t he tore his triceps, The Second City Saint would’ve gone on to battle Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. During the promo he had on Raw-post Royal Rumble, a teary-eyed Punk spoke his heart out amidst a sullen bunch of people in Tampa.
The ex-AEW Superstar spoke how he yearned to headline WrestleMania ever since he was a little kid. And just when it was about to happen, his ambitions splintered. Punk gloomily claimed that maybe his desire would never come to fruition. However, then and there, The Voice of the Voiceless iterated that there’s next year.
His elegiac address got disrupted by Drew McIntyre, who eventually laid out Punk. For what it’s worth, it appeared like a setup for their feud down the road. And even with Punk’s absence on shows, McIntyre hasn’t ebbed his pursuit of mocking The Best in the World. The Scottish Warrior seems over the moon sporting a tee, in which he buried Punk’s Mania hopes.
CM Punk made a surprise appearance after Raw this week
Those who attended Raw this Monday in Anaheim were the fortunate ones. First, they were treated with some top-tier in-ring action with the likes of Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre and Gunther vs. Jey Uso.
The show had little to no filler stuff, which kept the sold-out crowd boisterous throughout the night. And after Raw went off-air, Cody Rhodes, who was there to console Jey Uso, brought CM Punk out.
The Best in the World was backstage, and he couldn’t contain himself from going to the ring. Punk was handed a live microphone, and he promised that his injury was just a bump in the road.
Moreover, The Straight Edge Superstar assured the fans in attendance that he’ll be in his ring gear the next time WWE visits the Honda Center.
