Death, taxes, and CM Punk moving tickets in Chicago remain constant. Despite being on a rehab tour owing to torn triceps, The Best in the World would stop by this week’s Raw in his home state of Illinois. And a fascinating stat suggests he forced WWE’s production crew to make a change, though one the company would love. In a nutshell, this Monday’s Raw in Chicago is a hot ticket.
Per WrestleTix, WWE has sold a surplus of 2,849 tickets ever since Punk was added to the show. By March 5, the said event had distributed 11,859 tickets, which in itself was a sellout. However, more seats were made available to cater to a highly anticipated surge in demand once WWE announced that The Straight Edge Superstar was headed back to the hunting ground where he shocked the world at Survivor Series: WarGames last year.
As of writing, the CM Punk-headlined Raw has sold over 14,700 tickets to the public. Moreover, the reconfigured set-up with a potentially diminutive entrance stage can hold up to 15,022 fans, if not more.
With under 48 hours left, one would expect the remaining 300-odd tickets to move swiftly. Nonetheless, once the Allstate Arena fills up, it will be a sight to behold. That deafening pop Punk garnered when he returned to WWE after nearly a decade was an all-timer for many.
However, with the former WWE Champion now known to appear in front of his own people this Monday, the reaction shouldn’t be any less. An individual who would be eagerly waiting to spoil Punk’s night is none other than Drew McIntyre. He recently aimed a dig at the 45-year-old for lifting baby weights.
CM Punk teases interesting announcement for the fans ahead of his return
Last week on Raw, CM Punk confirmed that he’d be at WrestleMania 40. It doesn’t matter whether he gets an invitation or not; The Voice of the Voiceless seems hellbent on making his presence felt at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
A few hours ago, Punk posted a couple of images on his Instagram. In the first one, he collected some of his wrestling gear and wrote that something interesting is in the pipeline for the folks attending WrestleMania this year.
And next, CM Punk revealed that he shot something with Randy Orton recently, and fans will love it. While he didn’t give much context as to what he was talking about, the details might be out soon.
