The professional wrestling industry witnessed a change when Tony Khan presented AEW to the world. It gradually became one of the top wrestling promotions. However, the promotion also took a lot of criticism from veterans, including CM Punk, who was an infamous part of the company for a while. Cody Rhodes stated a difference of opinion with his fellow superstar as he broke his silence on the criticisms.
Speaking on the MMA Hour, Cody Rhodes stated that the Best in the World is entitled to his opinion. However, he thought differently. He mentioned the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Chris Jericho as well while appreciating All Elite Wrestling. In essence, the American Nightmare said that he is ‘proud’ of the creativity in the company and the way they are handling the well-being of the stars.
I am so proud of what was creative, and what it does for the industry overall, for wrestlers and their wellbeing, and I have an unbelievable love for so many people in that locker room, including the Bucks and Kenny, who we bonded forever over this thing that we did.Cody Rhodes on AEW
Both men clearly had different takes on AEW. CM Punk was involved in altercations at AEW All-In, which led to his release in 2023. There has been a beef between the star and the promotion ever since.
As for Rhodes, he was one of the founding members of the promotion. He was an integral part of the company. However, in 2022, he made his debut at WrestleMania 38. It seems the Royal Rumble winner is still grateful for what All Elite Wrestling has done for his career. It is going to be interesting to see more responses and reactions to these polar statements by two top WWE stars.
Cody Rhodes reacted to the treatment of Brandi Rhodes in AEW
Cody Rhodes left AEW in 2022. However, his wife, Brandi Rhodes, stayed for a while with the promotion after his departure. It was noted by many that the way Brandi was treated after Cody’s departure was not heartwarming. In essence, it was lackluster. The American Nightmare reacted to it in his recent interview.
In the interview on the MMA Hour, Cody revealed that his wife was scapegoated upon his exit from AEW. He added that Brandi was mistreated during that time, and it was not fair by any means. Rhodes also went on to say that it was treatment by the public in general that drives him mad, even to this date.
How she was treated after the departure, and this was not by any company, just in general, it pisses me off to this day, and she had a great experience last WrestleMania, and I look forward to that because I couldn’t do this without her.Cody Rhodes on MMA Hour
Besides, the American Nightmare also revealed that his wife is going to be at WrestleMania XL, along with his mom, Michelle Rubio. Fans are excited to see the couple this weekend, which is certainly going to be a mesmerizing sight to see. With the biggest challenge in Cody’s career, he is all set to go for glory.
