The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes has lately been on a rough patch of his career. Ever since his heart-breaking defeat against the Tribal Chief, he has frequently faced obstacles in finishing his story. Shinsuke Nakamura is the latest one who had denigrated Rhodes on various grounds. However, to the delight of his fans, Rhodes put an end to the feud by picking up a decisive win in a street fight.

He recently took to ‘X’ to share his thoughts with the fans. The Royal Rumble 2023 winner seems to have the end of the tunnel in sight. He has written the five-word message, “Only 2 steps left Believe”. These two steps might be synonymous with the two major PPVs left before WrestleMania 40 is in sight.

Ever since he branded his goal of winning the World Title at WrestleMania into the catch-phrase, “finish the story“, Rhodes has been on the receiving end of a tough set of challenges. It not only brought him into a trilogy against the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar but also brought him laurels by getting endorsed as the next face of WWE.

Rhodes is someone who keeps a tight connection with his fanbase. For instance, he recently accepted the offer to become the Best Man for a fan groom. While he has the sinister Japanese star in his hindsight, one cannot rule out the occurrence of the next obstacle in his goal. However, Rhodes has been poignant in his understanding of how he will have to compete against the likes of CM Punk and The Rock in making his dream come true.

Here is what the Hall of Famer had to say about it:

I've noticed a lot that Cody's not coming out in the whole outfit anymore. I guess he wasn't selling any t-shirts and thought 'I better wear a t-shirt out to the ring every once in a while so [I can sell some t-shirts].

This statement was received through his podcast Kliq This. While Rhodes has been one of the highest merchandise sellers for WWE, it could be that his sales might have dropped after some big names like CM Punk and Randy Orton made their returns.

On the other hand, wrestlers have a history of improvising their outfits in order to cater to their needs. In the case of Rhodes, he has been lately involved in a lot of physicality as well as promo battles. It could be that this change of fashion might be inspired by his need to perform impromptu. Time will tell what was the hidden intention behind Rhodes’ transforming his drip game.
