WWE is well known for auctioning signed commodities from wrestlers to support various charities and fundraisers. One such initiative started in 2014 by WWE along with the V-Foundation is Connor’s Cure for Fighting Pediatric Cancer. It has raised nearly $4.5 million to fund research grants and provide family assistance.
Throughout September, WWE conducts several fund-raising events, appearances, promotions, and auctions for this very cause. These activities have active participation from the WWE superstars. Recently, the promotion has auctioned various commodities to support Connor’s Cure and one of the superstars who participated in this noble cause is Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes’ match-worn robe, signed by him, sold for a whopping $46,700. The American Nightmare replied to WWE’s official post of his robe’s auction on X, confirming the bid of the rob. He also shares that he feels amazed by the bid. Moreover, Rhodes confirmed that all the benefits from the auction will go to the V-foundation and Connor’s Cure.
The 38-year-old expressed his gratitude to all those who have donated to the noble cause. WWE made this auction live through their official website and the bid closed on September 15. The robe that has been auctioned is the one that was worn by Cody Rhodes during his entrance for the match against Brock Lesnar at Night of Champions.
The match took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on May 27, 2023. The American Nightmare failed to grab victory as he lost against the Beast Incarnate that night. However, the robe’s significance is paramount, and now it has been auctioned for a noble cause.

Cody Rhodes continues his feud with Dominik Mysterio
The American Nightmare is currently fighting The Judgement Day along with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. He is mainly focusing on tackling Dominik Mysterio. Both of these superstars started their feud on an episode of RAW when Dom called Cody a “deadbeat father” like Rey Mysterio.
The two locked horns at Money in the Bank this year, where Cody Rhodes grabbed the victory. Despite the loss, Dominic has constantly been a thorn in the side of Rhodes. He has been hovering over the former AEW star on the subsequent episodes of Monday Night Raw.
The American Nightmare is also receiving a lot of backlash from the locker room for bringing Jey Uso to RAW. Cody announced that Main Event Jey would be part of the red brand when he appeared on The Grayson Waller Effect on Payback. This announcement has made a lot of backstage superstars on the roster unhappy and angry.
