Edge has been a big name associated with WWE for many years. On SmackDown, the Rated-R superstar wrestled his last contracted match in WWE. He recently revealed in an interview that his contract is set to expire at the end of September. The Hall of Famer talked about the renewal of his contract with WWE, which has created a lot of buzz.

While speaking in a podcast on the “FAN Morning Show,” Edge disclosed the status of his contract in WWE, addressing the rumors surrounding it. According to PWTorch, the Rated-R Superstar pitched his demands to WWE in order to renew his contract. However, the company has denied his requests, as per the reports.

This new report has sparked a whirlpool of speculation that Edge could head towards AEW. Tony Khan’s promotion can offer him a handsome contract to sign the Rated-R superstar. The AEW President has been a big fan of the Ultimate Opportunist, which might prompt him to add Edge to his roster.

Along with that, Edge’s long-time close friend Christian Cage is also working in the same promotion. AEW can pair the two superstars to take fans down memory lane. Moreover, the Hall of Famer might also be looking to wrestle Christian in his retirement match, which looks possible only in AEW.

To which Edge said, “It does give me peace of mind because, you know, I was able to come back and do it.” He added that being away from the ring is going to be difficult for him. However, his recent run has earned him a place in the hearts of his fans, which will always remain iconic.

The whole idea behind Edge’s triumphant return to WWE at the Royal Rumble in 2020 was to retire on his own terms. It looks like the Rated-R superstar has done it now. With the rumors and speculations moving ahead of time, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for the WWE Hall of Famer.
