The latest episode of SmackDown was the most important day in Corey Graves‘ career. He has commentated for many years now; however, he was excited and nervous at the same time about his new role as the lead commentator. Graves broke his silence on social media after SmackDown to talk about this special occasion.
Graves took to X and expressed his gratitude for his new role as a lead commentator on Smackdown. The 39-year-old star accepted that he was nervous during commentary and said he would try his best to entertain the fans.
Graves joined Kevin Patrick on the Blue brand on August 11, 2023, as a color commentator. He was then switched into the lead commentator on January 30, 2024, with Wade Barrett taking his role on SmackDown. The fans were also impressed by him and opined that he deserved it.
I haven't been that nervous in year. A new role. A new mountain. A new challenge. There will be bumped in the road. There is plenty of room for improvement. But, as a lifelong fan, it is an honor. I will do my best to do right by you.Corey Graves on X
Corey had the experience of doing commentary, and tonight he proved that he can lead the team by doing an excellent job on the desk. With Kevin Patrick’s release from the company, the fans will witness the duo of Graves and Barrett on the commentary table.
Triple H congratulated Corey Graves on the special accomplishment on social media
WWE CCO Triple H was also impressed by Corey Graves’ commentary on the Blue brand. He congratulated the former NXT Tag Team Champion on social media for doing a fantastic job in his new role. Not just Hunter, but the fans also praised him, saying he meshed well with Barrett and called the action.
The Game took to X to praise both Graves and Barrett and congratulate them. Triple H never misses a chance to congratulate and support the WWE superstars and on-screen personalities. He referred to Graves’ achievement as conquering the mountain.
