The former AEW Superstar, CM Punk, has been the talk of the town since he was fired by All Elite Wrestling a couple of weeks ago. Various rumors and speculations about him joining WWE have been surfacing on the internet lately. Recently, Corey Graves mentioned a quote on SmackDown that many believe to be a subtle reference to CM Punk. Later on, the WWE commentator issued a clarification on X.

During this week’s episode of SmackDown, Corey Graves used a famous quote associated with CM Punk during his time in Ring of Honor. Graves said, “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making the world forget that he existed.” Debunking the connection with Punk, Graves said on X, “You guys should really see The Usual Suspects.” He clarified that he did not give any reference to anyone.

For context, Corey Graves has mentioned the famous 1995 film “The Usual Suspects,” where Kevin Spacey’s character famously utters the same line. Therefore, the WWE commentator played with the fans, as they surmised that it was a reference to the Second City Saint.
