SummerSlam has been a spectacular event that delivered on expectations. However, it left some questions unanswered during the show. One such question was the in-ring status of Damage CTRL member, Dakota Kai. She appeared on television after Iyo Sky successfully cashed in her contract and won the WWE Women’s Championship. Kai answered the question later on in the press conference held after SummerSlam.

Dakota Kai reunited with her stablemates at the Biggest Party of Summer to celebrate the biggest win of Iyo Sky’s career. The mood of celebration continued in the press conference as well. During that, an interviewer asked Kai about her in-ring status. The returning superstar replied, “I’m still a ways away from being in-ring cleared.” Kai further added that she returned just to celebrate Iyo’s win, as they started together as a group last year.

Dakota Kai hasn’t appeared on television since the May 12 episode of SmackDown. She has been sidelined due to a torn ACL. Moreover, Dakota teased about doing something big in 2024. However, this was just a one-time appearance, and she is not returning to in-ring action anytime soon.

Furthermore, Damage CTRL talked about their biggest achievement as a group. They mentioned that they started together last year and wanted to celebrate the moment together to mark themselves as one true group. It will be interesting to see how Iyo Sky’s reign as the Champion progresses in the future, starting with next SmackDown.

Will Dakota Kai go for the Women’s Tag Titles after her return?

Dakota Kai made her appearance at SummerSlam following Iyo Sky’s victory. However, she later revealed in the press conference that she is not medically cleared for in-ring action as of now. Kai further added that 2024 can be the year where fans can expect the Damage Control member to make her return. She hinted that she will go for the Women’s Tag Titles as soon as she makes her return.

Bayley also spoke about winning the tag titles after Dakota Kai returns so that they can have all the gold. Kai had an amazing run during her days in NXT. However, she could not rise to prominence on the main roster. The 35-year-old might go for the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Bayley when she returns.

Dakota Kai last appeared on television in a Tag Team match, where she suffered a torn ACL. The fans haven’t gotten a glimpse of her until SummerSlam 2023. However, she was positive about her recovery while speaking at the press conference. It will be interesting to see which path she chooses once she returns to the ring.
