“Some talks were happening” Dakota Kai reveals the real reason why she never joined any company after the WWE release in 2021
Dakota Kai returns to WWE at SummerSlam
When Dakota Kai returned to the WWE at the WWE Premium Event Summerslam, everyone was taken aback. Along with two other returning superstars, Iyo Sky and the role model Bayley, she made her main roster debut with a fresh look and a new attitude.
Damage CTRL, a faction they founded in the women’s division, has had a significant impact on the whole women’s division since its inception. In addition, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky, two of the faction’s members, are presently in possession of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Dakota Kai wanted to relax her mind after getting released from WWE
In a recent interview, Dakota Kai discussed how she felt when the WWE decided to let her go and why she chose not to make the huge decision to sign with another major business like many wrestlers did after being let go as a result of budget cuts from the company in the year 2021.
After recently being let go by WWE, Dakota Kai claimed that it was against her nature to sign on with another organisation. Instead, she saw the situation as a chance to unwind and take a break from the wrestling industry, which forced her to work on some of her favourite projects, like streaming and other things.
When her 30-day trial period ended, Dakota Kai admitted that she had never considered working for another company. As a result, when the situation in WWE slightly changed and she received a call from the company requesting her return, she felt compelled to act immediately because the opportunity was so great. This is evident now that she is working with Bayley and Iyo Sky.
Dakota said, “That was always in the back of my mind, ‘Should I not be hitting the ground running in terms of doing Indie promotions and things like that? I just didn’t have it in me to rush in after the 30 days were up and be like ‘boom, boom.’ Some talks were happening, but I think it worked out a lot better for me that I didn’t.”
