To begin with, Drew McIntyre instantly nailed Seth Rollins with a Claymore kick, but the latter powered out just barely. At ringside, while CM Punk was on commentary, McIntyre exchanged some words with him. Back in the ring, The Scottish Warrior got his head stomped by Seth, but he kicked out as well. After going back-and-forth for a while, the challenger once again found himself grounded.

The Visionary got his chin-checked after being struck with a future shock DDT. Drew McIntyre‘s gloating attempt to deliver a GTS to Rollins backfired, but he nailed yet another Claymore on Seth, and somehow he survived. Both men kept slugging until the Scot unleashed that top gear and finally pinned Seth Rollins to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. After the match, he went straight to his wife, who was sitting in the front row, and they got to share a moment.

However, McIntyre wasn’t done as he perched on the commentary table and started trash talking with CM Punk. After having enough of the 38-year-old, The Best in the World removed his arm brace and started assaulting Drew. The latter was already battered and it got worse when Damian Priest‘s music hit. He cashed-in his Money in the Bank contract and snatched the title away from the self-proclaimed DM Hunk.

And just like that, it was over for McIntyre. All the labor he had put in was squandered once his obsession with Punk tucked in. The Second City Saint couldn’t help but chuckle at Drew’s misery after seemingly playing a decisive role in rendering him impotent. Things are evenly poised, with a new face in Priest attaining the mountain top.

That closing stretch was a ride, simply a rollercoaster of emotions. Even though Drew McIntyre got his long-awaited WrestleMania moment, it went south just as fast. As expected, the fans are all over the internet to share their exhilaration.

A fan joked that McIntyre will jump ship to AEW now. Most of them claimed that it was exactly how night 2 of WrestleMania needed to be kicked-off. A fan said that Drew will get the world title back on his home turf at Clash at the Castle.

Comparisons were also made to Seth Rollins’ “Heist of the Century” moment with Damian’s being it’s second version. One even said that it happened because The Savior of WrestleMania messed with The Voice of the Voiceless.
