This year’s men’s Money in the Bank was built different. Having no former World Champion in the lineup made things even more intriguing. That being said, LA Knight was a heavy favorite heading into this hugh-stakes matchup in London. The remaining field comprised of Logan Paul, Damian Priest, Santos Escobar, Ricochet, Butch and Shinsuke Nakamura. Each men brought a unique dimension in that career-altering showdown.
The match begun with every superstar unloading themselves over Logan Paul. Quickly, Butch found a cricket bat to inflict a brief damage to his counterparts. Eyes we’re glued to what LA Knight was upto. Also, the daredevil highflying tactics of Paul & Ricochet made the maps. They went through a couple of tables place outside off a Spanish Fly. After that maneuver, The Maverick got busted open on his shoulders.
Each superstar got their hands to the briefcase, however the ending was unexpected. Before that, a plethora of ladder crushing spots also came into existence. At the end, Priest and Knight slugged it out. It appeared like Knight’s going to retrieve that contract. However, they dropped the ball and The Archer of Infamy clinched glory.
Needless to say, WWE made the wrong decision to not crown Knight as Mr. Money in the Bank. He has grown so much upon the audience in recent weeks. No matter which city he’s in, the former Eli Drake gets the biggest reaction. The creative has done him dirty in the past, however, fans hoped tonight could mark his new beginning, but to no avail.
WWE fans are absolutely stunned after Damain Priest’s victory at Money in the Bank
For sure, Priest winning was not expected. It was always a tie between Logan Paul and LA Knight. However, rising from the darkness, the Judgment Day member proved everyone wrong. The live crowd in London was visibly disappointed and why not. LA Knight had all the momentum heading into this one and WWE just simply mocked their audience again.
It remains to be seen what happens next. Priest is now entitled to cash-in for any title he wants, whenever he wants. It could be tonight as well. As known, Seth Rollins will defend his World Heavyweight Title against Finn Balor. Scenes can certainly get interesting if the newly crowned Mr. MITB decides to intervene in that.
