WWE released a ton of wrestlers from their roster this Thursday. The move was expected following the merger with the UFC under TKO Group Holdings. Among the long list of names, Dana Brooke was a glaring inclusion. She was living on the edge as far as her past few months in the company were concerned. Neither she got that push from the upper management nor did the fans back her.
After over a decade with the company, WWE released the 34-year-old former 24/7 Champion, Dana Brooke. Reflecting on her journey, she shared an emotional message on her X (formerly Twitter) account, discussing her initial self-doubts following her WWE departure.
However, Brooke decided to believe in her inner self and went with the flow. She even called WWE (wrestling) her love story and credited it as the one that drove her out of depression back in 2017, when she lost a close one. The former 24/7 Champion expressed her utmost gratitude to the fans.
Brooke also thanked her locker room buddies who have always backed her in this business. In the end, she promised her admirers that the WWE release wasn’t the end of Dana Brooke’s wrestling career. Instead, she termed it the beginning of something new. At this point, there are several destinations where Dana could give it a chance.
Needless to say, her entire WWE run was full of misery. She never actually got to display her potential. However, she now has the opportunity to choose what’s best for her. Fans believe that she might head to Tony Khan’s promotion in the future.
Cora Jade has reacted to Dana Brooke’s WWE release
During the past few weeks of her active WWE career, Dana Brooke was sent to NXT. She even started a short-term feud with Cora Jade over there. In her last match on the Gold brand, she won a Kendo Stick match against Jade. It appeared like she’d thrive under Shawn Michael‘s leadership.
However, before Brooke could make a splash, she fell victim to the so-called budget cuts from WWE. As a result, many superstars reacted to it and expressed their disappointment. Cora Jade was one of the stars who expressed her thoughts on Dana Brooke’s release.
Cora Jade paid homage to Dana Brooke through a story on her Instagram. Sarcastically, the former wrote that she’d have loved beating up Dana. But the post implied that she’d wait until they meet next time, and Jade ended the note with a pink-hearted emoji, tagging Dana Brooke.
