Daniel Bryan was a top wrestler during his time in WWE and feuded with some of the toughest men in the company. Bryan had best mic skills and had incredible technical skills in the ring. Daniel Bryan had a unique move set and had a great strength despite his small stature. Bryan had a great sense of marketability and captivated the crowd through his gimmick and spectacular mic skills, with a touch of comedy and humility in them.

Daniel Brayan was signed to WWE two times before 2009 but couldn’t make a name during that time and was released after which he wrestled around independent circuit and was known for his time at the Ring of Honor from 2002 to 2009. Bryan also became a one-time ROH Champion during his stint at the Ring of Honor. He was signed to WWE in 2009 and was released from the company in 2010 due to his violent actions towards ring announcer Justin Roberts, the act though it was a part of storyline, Bryan was fired due to being violent.

Daniel Bryan returned to independent circuit after being released due to the violent episode with Justin Roberts. He was then resigned to WWE and made his return at the SummerSlam 2010. Since then, there was no looking back for Bryan and worked in the company continuously for the next 11 years. Bryan retired in 2016 due to neck injury but worked as a GM for SmackDown Brand. Daniel Bryan returned to in-ring competition in 2019 after he was cleared to wrestle. He debuted in 2019 as a heel and with an environmentalist gimmick which received praise from the WWE Universe.

Daniel Bryan wrestled his last match in WWE on 30th April 2021 edition of SmackDown and faced Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. He was defeated at the event, and thereafter his contract was expired. WWE kept pushing him to sign a new one but he didn’t. Bryan has opened up on why he chose to sign AEW over a new contract with WWE.

During his appearance on the Renee Pacquette show Daniel Bryan said that everyone thought that he had two options between WWE and AEW, when in reality he had three options AEW, WWE and being a full-time dad. Bryan also revealed that he wanted something which gave him more creative freedom and a lighter wrestling schedule. Daniel also revealed that he wanted to bleed in some of the matches which is something that made him feel alive and wasn’t allowed in the WWE.

“So, people think I had two options between WWE and AEW, and the reality was I was considering three options, which was WWE, AEW, or just not being a full-time wrestler anymore and being more of a full-time dad, When I told that to Brie with the money that each company was offering to me, I think she might’ve wanted to kill me.”

Daniel Bryan made his AEW debut in 2021 and now has formed a team with Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta and has named the group Blackpool Combat Club.
