Davey Boy Smith Jr. had decided to carry on his father’s legacy since he was 8 years old. He was trained by his father, the late great Davey Boy Smith, and his uncle, Bruce Hart. In 2007, Davey Boy Smith Jr. performed in the WWE’s developmental territories before making his television debut the same year, when he defeated Carlito in a singles match on RAW.

Smith’s wrestling moves have been similar to those of his father’s, and he uses his father’s trademark, the running Powerslam, which was seen during his time in the WWE. Davey Boy Smith Jr. rose to prominence when he became a part of the Hart Dynasty. The Hart Dynasty was a stable consisting of Smith’s cousin Natalya and her husband Tyson Kidd.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. recently stated on the Total BeezSheez Show that Tyson Kidd was his favourite tag team partner, noting that they had a natural synergy growing up together and their timing was always right. Smith said that they could both complete their sequences with their eyes closed.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. brought up the AEW Tag Team FTR and stated that if they had been around back then, he would have wanted to wrestle the FTR with Kidd as his tag team partner. He believes the bout would have been fantastic since they are both tag team specialists.

“There could be a great tag team like FTR for instance, If back in the day, Tyson and I teamed up and wrestled them in a tag, the match probably would’ve been great.”
