Denver Broncos’ Patrick Surtain II gets presented with Legacy WWE title on his first SmackDown, hints at WWE in-ring debut
WWE gifted Patrick Surtain II with a Denver Broncos legacy title during his visit to SmackDown.

The most recent episode of SmackDown took place in Denver, Colorado. Patrick Surtain II, the Denver Broncos quarterback, attended his first ever live WWE show. Earlier, Bobby Lashley presented a special Broncos Legacy Championship to one of the most prominent stars of the NFL on behalf of the entire WWE Universe. Prior to this, the Stamford-based promotion announced a partnership with the football league.
Therefore, they gifted the same replica to Surtain. Bobby Lashley revealed he has always been a big fan of the team, as it is his hometown as well. Patrick thanked Lashley for honoring him with the belt and appreciated the gesture. Afterwards, he spoke with Cathy Kelley backstage in an interview. First, he mentioned that he used to be a big fan of the WWE growing up.
Furthermore, the 23-year-old named Rey Mysterio, John Cena, and Triple H as a few of his favorite wrestlers. As expected, Patrick Surtain II was excited to watch the show. “Maybe” he answered, referring to a potential future run in the promotion. “I’ve got a season to focus on; maybe when I’m done playing or maybe in the offseason, I can get in the ring,” Pat explained.
“Soon to become, and we’re getting to that stage, so very excited,” he said while talking about the NFL Championship aspirations. WWE continues to collaborate with other sports, mostly handing out custom belts. Recently, Coco Gauff received a replica of the World Title after becoming one of the youngest players to win the US Open tournament.
WWE’s history of collaborating with outside parties
The WWE has always tried to come together with prominent figures and athletes in other fields. Recently, the promotion struck a partnership with the NFL ahead of the season, providing legacy belts for each team in the league.
Moreover, they have maintained relationships with celebrities throughout their history as well. As a result, more eyes are placed on the WWE product, garnering attention from first-time viewers as well. In fact, the Stamford-based promotion had a special celebrity wing in its prestigious Hall of Fame.
Fans have eluded to the company placing their logo on belts to boost their product through marketing. For instance, Coco Gauff recently posted a picture with her US Open title and the WWE Championship belt as well, which garnered a lot of attention online. WWE continues to do that in order to bolster their relationship.
