“What would you do if you won the title and you’re Edge?” Former WWE writer reveals details about the infamous ‘Live S*X Celebration’

Adam Joseph Copeland is famously known as Edge is a former World Heavyweight Champion who currently works with WWE on Raw. Edge made his pro wrestling debut in 1992 wrestling for various independent promotions. Edge signed a developmental contract with WWE in 1997 and made his televised debut in 1998.
The Rated R superstar would go on to win the WWE Intercontinental champion on a house show against Jeff Jarret but lost the title the next night to Jarret. Edge later in his career went on to win the King of the Ring tournament and would subsequently win the Intercontinental title for the second time in his career. Edge along with Hulk Hogan won the WWE Tag Team Championship defeating Billy and Chuck.
At Wrestlemania Edge won the first Money in the Bank Ladder match which guaranteed the Rated R superstar a shot at the title any time and at any place. Edge being the Ultimate opportunist waited for the right moment and finally decided to cash in the money in the bank contract on John Cena who had just retained his title in a gruesome Elimination Chamber match. Edge would spear Cena twice before pinning him in the middle of the ring to become the WWE Champion for the first time in his career.
Edge and Lita celebrated the Rated R superstar’s world championship win
The Ultimate Opportunist after his title win wanted to celebrate in grand style ,the following night on Raw the Rated R superstar decided to celebrate by having hot, unconstraind sex with his then girlfriend Lita. He and Lita got partially naked and started with foreplay in the middle of the ring until they were interrupted by Ric Flair. Ric Flair received a con-chair-to on the announcers table for his troubles. The Nature Boy was was saved by John Cena who proceeded to give an FU to Lita.
The ‘Live Sex Celebration’ segment garned Raw a rating of 5.2 which was the highest at that time. In an interview with ‘Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw‘, former WWE Writer Christopher DeJoseph shed light on how idea of the erotic segment was perceived :
“Edge had just won the title from John Cena and cashed in the Money in the Bank. We were in a meeting with Vince and he said, ‘Well what would you do if you won the title and you’re Edge?’ and I said, ‘I would have sex with my girlfriend in the middle of the ring for everybody to see’,” DeJoseph stated. “So that’s kind of how that live sex celebration thing happened.”
Edge in his time with the WWE would later go on to capture the world title 10 more times involving in epic feuds with the likes of John Cena, Undertaker ,Batista to name a few. Edge retired from wrestling as the World Heavyweight Champion after suffering a neck injury. The Rated R superstar then made a shocking return to WWE after 11 years at Royal Rumble. Edge will be remembered for his epic comeback but he will always remembered for the most erotic segment in WWE.
