Asuka defended her Women’s Championship in a grueling match at SummerSlam 2023. It was a triple-threat and had Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair as the challengers. As expected from these three talented women, it was a fast-paced bout, with all of them exchanging momentum throughout. After the bout was over, Iyo Sky cashed in her Money In The Bank contract.
Early in the match, The Queen handed out chops to both her opponents. Following this, all competitors hit their submission moves on one another. Charlotte Flair performed a moonsault on Belair. Afterwards, the latter retaliated with a belly-to-belly suplex of her own. Evidently, Asuka took advantage of any opportunity to perform her submission move.
Throughout the bout, Bianca Belair worked with an injured knee after the EST took a nasty bump on the steel steps. This seemingly took her out of the equation completely, as medical officials assisted her by taking Belair backstage. Surprisingly, she showed courage by returning and performing a clean “450” maneuver on Flair.
In the final stretch of this battle, Asuka misted Charlotte while she locked in the Figure-Eight on Bianca. However, the EST did the unthinkable when she pinned the Champion to win the match. Just as she was celebrating, Iyo Sky appeared and cashed in her Money In The Bank contract to win the WWE Women’s Championship. Watch the video here.
Almost every fan was elated as the Detroit crowd at SummerSlam erupted with joy at the 33-year-old finally getting her moment. Afterwards, she celebrated with Bayley and a returning Dakota Kai. The WWE Universe has been waiting for this for a long time, as Iyo had worked hard to get to the top of the mountain.

Iyo Sky successfully cashed in her Money In The Bank contract at SummerSlam. After a hard-hitting triple-threat match between Asuka, Bianca Belair, and Charlotte Flair, the EST emerged victorious. As she was celebrating, Iyo Sky came to spoil her party and cashed in her briefcase to win the WWE Women’s Championship. She was accompanied by Bayley and later joined by Dakota Kai during the celebrations.
It was a special moment, as it was at last year’s event that the faction was introduced. Bayley expressed her happiness at Iyo’s win by posting on Twitter. She wrote in the caption, “I BELIEVE IN MAGIC!!!” Along with the caption, she posted a couple of pictures of her and her teammates celebrating the special night.
Tension has been brewing between Bayley and Iyo Sky for weeks since the latter won the Money In The Bank match. However, they stayed as a unit on this night with no problems whatsoever during the 33-year-old’s cash-in. Hence, it will be interesting to see how the duo coexists as many contenders lie in wait for the new Women’s Champion.
