Drew McIntyre must get his flowers for the marvelous work he portrays on WWE programming. The Scottish Warrior has become a menace on Raw and can easily provoke anyone with his words. His recent work with Seth “Freakin” Rollins and CM Punk has transitioned him into a much bigger star than he ever was. However, multiple rumors suggested that McIntyre wanted to leave WWE earlier.

Recently, Dave Meltzer disclosed the negotiation talks between the Scottish wrestler and WWE. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, the wrestling analyst asserted that Drew McIntyre wasn’t in any rush to renew his contract. He added how the 2-time WWE Champion wanted his character to nourish before re-signing. According to Meltzer, McIntyre would have taken a hiatus if his new character had gotten lost in the mix.

And that was among the thoughts, obviously the character got over great. And the other aspect of the character getting over great is that by doing so and not signing, the feeling is that his price should be higher, because he's a much bigger star.

Moreover, Dave stated that McIntyre is booked in big programs, and consequently, his payscale must get bigger as well. The 38-year-old’s character is one of the best works on display on Raw, and it is absolutely over with the fans. McIntyre is consistently feuding with The Visionary and somehow manages to troll CM Punk.
