Drew McIntyre made his presence felt among the crowd in Florida after SmackDown went off-air. The Scottish Warrior faced off against Imperium member Ludwig Kaiser in a dark match for the audience’s sake. The reports state the reason why these two superstars from Raw clashed after SmackDown. While the reason is McIntyre’s choice, as he agreed to be at one of his special places in Florida.
The Twitter handle of a source provided the news of Drew McIntyre‘s agreement to wrestle his first-ever singles match after 3 months. It also suggests that he was not planning to be here or even in Florida, as he just landed in Florida from Budapest. But an urgent text from WWE officials asked him to perform in a non-televised match after SmackDown, to which he agreed. As he stated, Florida is a special place, maybe because of his WWE Championship win at that arena.
Drew’s preference for it comes from the fact that he joined Florida Championship Wrestling during his hiatus from WWE in 2008. While the Amway Center in Orlando also holds a special place for being the host for his second WWE-title reign. And the WWE Performance Center in Orlando is the place where he emerged victorious against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 and won the prestigious WWE Championship for the first time.
McIntyre’s current feud is with Gunther for his Intercontinental Championship. Thus, his match with Kaiser was also a part of progressing the rivalry with what was eventually Gunther’s Imperium stable. The Ring General’s match with Drew is rumored to be happening at SummerSlam, where the former’s title looks in more jeopardy than it has ever been.

The Ring General Gunther has been one of the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champions of the modern era. Having held the title for more than a year now, Gunther has gained the support of his stablemates Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci whenever needed. Thus, he thinks of rewarding the more deserving Kaiser with a title.
In a recent interview with Contralona, The Ring General praised Ludwig and stated how he has found out how to stand out. Gunther added that he is capable of a lot of things with his charisma and has already gained a lot in a short amount of time. Hence, he deserves more recognition as a titleholder in the company.
Imperium’s recent feud with Drew McIntyre and Matt Riddle has faced Gunther and Ludwig quite a few times. This feud is part of the mega rivalry between McIntyre and Gunther heading into SummerSlam. The feud kicked off when Drew made his return and confronted The Ring General at Money in the Bank 2023.
