The closing moments of this week’s Raw saw Drew McIntyre standing tall as the crowd chanted CM Punk‘s name. The Scottish Warrior had a dominating performance. However, he had a quick response to the crowd, chanting Punk’s name. He mocked the WWE Universe in San Antonio while singing his rival’s song.
While McIntyre was departing the arena, he noticed a bunch of members of the WWE Universe chanting the name of the Best in the World. The Scottish Warrior then went on to mock the crowd by playing CM Punk’s renowned theme song ‘Cult of Personality’ in his car. It was a straight-up shot to The Second City Saint, as here after the 38-year-old even referred to himself as ‘DM Hunk.’
It surely got the WWE Universe mad, as no one was expecting such behavior from the former WWE Champion. However, it was a nice play around by McIntyre while being in the character. There have been a lot of instances where Drew has taken brutal shots at the Voice of the Voiceless. These regular shots started right after Punk announced his injury sustained at the Royal Rumble.
McIntyre has been an entertaining part of Monday Night Raw recently. He is all set to have an opportunity against Seth Rollins at the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. It is going to be interesting to see if, after all this build-up and heated confrontations, McIntyre is able to capture the gold or not. Moreover, fans are also anticipating the return of the Best in the World to WWE to answer The Scottish Warrior’s false beliefs.
Drew McIntyre revealed that commentators calling him a hypocrite bothers him
Drew McIntyre has been one of the most prominent villains in WWE right now. Ever since he turned heel, he has been on a rampage. After taking down CM Punk and then defeating Cody Rhodes on Raw, The Scottish Warrior is all set to face Seth Rollins. Before his match, McIntyre talked about his feelings, while WWE commentators called him a hypocrite.
On WWE’s The Bump Show, the 38-year-old Superstar stated that he is really bothered by the fact that WWE commentators portray him as a villain. He specifically mentioned Michael Cole for calling him a hypocrite. The former WWE Champion went on to say that this heavily bothers him.
It bothers me a lot, Michael Cole, specifically, but Pat and anybody on commentary, they are the voices of WWE, Michael is the voice of WWE. He controls the narrative, he affects exactly how the fans think and feel, and he's painted me with this negative brush. And I can't swear on here, but it P's me off.Drew McIntyre on The Bump
The multi-time champion has been really open on social media. He vents his heart out on the internet. However, the fact that he is getting bothered by WWE commentators might lead to Drew taking a jab at those people on his social media. Besides, only time will tell how things will go for him from here on out.
