Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre was on a fallaway for a very long time. Since losing the Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns at Clash At The Castle, McIntyre seems to be failing at every big stage. His frustrations can be seen now, as he has been teasing for months that he might finally turn heel. This was again evident in the latest episode of RAW.

Drew McIntyre faced Kofi Kingston in a singles match this week on the red brand. However, Ivar from the Viking Raiders interrupted the match and distracted Kofi. This allowed McIntyre to get the victory. After the match, Ivar jumped Kofi and started beating him. However, the Scottish Warrior walked away from the ring instead of saving Kingston from the attack.

Drew McIntyre walked to the back as fans booed him for not helping their favorite. WWE teased the heel turn for weeks now. McIntyre did the same thing last week when The Judgment Day jumped Jey Uso after their match in the main event. Therefore, it is conspicuous that the turn is coming soon.

This will be a much-needed character change for the Scottish Warrior, as he was getting lost in the mix with his existing character. Watch as Drew McIntyre walks away from the attack after his match:

Drew McIntyre proved in 2020 that he has the capability of leading the company and being the champion. Therefore, if the heel turn is booked properly, McIntyre could be one of the top stars on RAW. This could also benefit the storylines of other superstars such as Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn.

Possible opponents for Drew McIntyre on RAW if he turns heel

Drew McIntyre has been one of the top babyfaces on RAW since returning in July. He faced Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam but failed to get a victory. However, if he were to turn heel, a whole new set of superstars would be available for McIntyre to face. The RAW roster has a bunch of baby faces who are extremely popular among fans.

Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso are among the few names who can face McIntyre. Additionally, the feuds can benefit the members involved. The feud between Rollins and McIntyre could also take place for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The last time Drew was a champion, he was in front of no fans during the pandemic era. Therefore, he deserves a title run in front of the audience every week, as he has given a lot to WWE during trying times. Fans will have to wait and see how WWE utilizes the Scottish Warrior if he were to turn heel in the coming weeks.
