“Lugar was probably the worst”- Dutch Mantell reveals that he wanted to slap Lex Luger at a point in his career

Dutch Mantell has been known for his time in WWE from 2013 to 2016. Dutch acted as the manager of Jack Swagger. He portrayed a heel and strongly advocated anti-immigrant beliefs. Mantel also teamed up with Jack Swagger on an edition of RAW in a 2 on 1 handicap match against Alberto Del Rio, though Dutch didn’t enter the ring, their team was defeated when Alberto performed the cross armbreaker and made swagger submit. Dutch Mantell was also involved in a match against Ricardo Rodriguez and Big E on an edition of RAW in 2013, the match would decide the stipulation for the World Heavyweight Championship match at Extreme Rules. Dutch Mantell lost the match.
Dutch went on a break in December 2014 and returned to WWE Hell in a Cell in 2015. After his return he began advertising a merger between the United States and Mexico as “MexAmerica,” with Alberto Del Rio which led to many clashes with Dutch’s former apprentice, Jack Swagger. Mantel and Del Rio broke their association after the latter was made to stumble by him. Thereafter Mantel was released from WWE in 2016.

Dutch Mantell says that working with Lex Luger was very difficult

Lex Luger was one of the most popular wrestlers during the 90s with PWI readers voting him one of the most popular wrestlers of the year 1993. Luger has never won a championship in WWF but he challenged every wrestler for each particular Championship that existed during his time. Lex Luger has won the WCW World Heavyweight championship two times and has been a joint winner of the 1994 Royal Rumble.
Dutch Mantell appeared in the WWF as a manager from the year 1994 to 1996, He managed the Blu Brothers until their release in 1996, and then also went on to manage the now WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield. During his recent appearance on the Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Dutch Mantell revealed that Luger was one of the most difficult people to work with.
Mantel said that Luger was the worst of all and would talk about himself in the third person. Mantel added that he wanted to reach over and open hand slap luger one time. Dutch said that he would wonder what Luger would do if he got slapped.
“Lex Lugar was probably the worst. He would talk about himself in the third person and say, ‘I don’t think Lex would do that.’ I wanted to reach over and open-hand slap him at one time. I said well, ‘what would lex do if he just got the sh** slapped out of it, then I’d find out what he’d do.”
