In some tragic news, Darren Drozdov, who was nicknamed Puke, has passed away. The former WWE wrestler took his last breath at the age of 54. WWE also flashed an “In the memory of” graphic for the deceased soul to kick off this week’s SmackDown episode. The wrestling world is completely flabbergasted after learning of Droz’s passing. WWE legend and Hollywood icon Dwayne Johnson has also reacted to the same.
Back in the day, Darren worked for WWE. After making his debut in 1998, he quickly aligned himself with the Legion of Doom. Before appearing on national television for the first time, he informed WWE management about one of his odd talents. The former NFL player enlightened the executives about his natural ability to vomit at will. After learning that, WWE decided to incorporate that into Droz’s gimmick.
In one of his documentaries, Beyond the Mat, Vince McMahon was seen requesting Drozrov to vomit into a trashcan placed in his office. His initial months were spent as a tag team alongside Animal. At SummerSlam 1998, the pair took part in a tag team turmoil to determine the top contenders for the WWF Tag Team titles back then. However, they couldn’t get the job done and were eliminated early.
After a year since his debut, Droz suffered a career-ending neck injury. During a singles match on SmackDown in 1999, he broke his two neck vertebrae. The catastrophic injury was caused by a botched running powerbomb from his opponent, D’Lo Brown. As a result, Droz became quadriplegic for quite some time before regaining upper body strength years later. The deceased wrestler never held Brown accountable for that botched maneuver.

As soon as Fightful reported the news, the wrestling timeline got blown away. At first, no one was able to believe it; however, WWE later confirmed the demise. A plethora of current and former wrestlers have since dropped notes of sincere condolence. For the most part, Droz lived with his family and sister. For them, it’s surely going to be a hard pill to swallow.
Dwayne Johnson was among the first to share his heart on the matter. The Brahma Bull recalled all the beautiful memories he shared with Darren. Apart from him, current Raw superstar Natalya also tweeted and expressed her condolences. As time goes, more reactions are expected to drop. We here at FirstSportz are deeply saddened to learn about Darren Droz’s passing. Our hearts go out to the family members and close friends of the wrestler.
