Dwayne Johnson better known to WWE fans as ‘The Rock’ is potentially the most popular superstar in the entire WWE history alongside his career long rival ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. Both men were the cornerstones of the Attitude Era in WWE. It would be absolutely fair enough to say that they are two of the major reasons why WWE was able to attain fentabulous mainstay attention during that period.

Dwayne Johnson
The Rock Vs. Austin was an epic rivalry in WWE history.

Current WWE senior Vice President and attitude era veteran Bruce Prichard recently revealed that The Rock was really invested in a younger superstar of the 2004s as he saw himself in that guy and he wanted to work with him in a way to help him out. That name is none other than the current 14- time WWE Champion, The Apex Predator Randy Orton.

On a recent edition of his podcast, Speaking to wrestle with Bruce Prichard he revealed the following things –

Rock was really happy to be working with a guy like Randy because it was youth and in that Rock was able to see where he was at that age,” Prichard said. “I think Rock had debuted at that point and Rock could look at Randy and go, man, ‘I’ve been there, I’m a third generation.’ So you had two third-generation guys in there in The Rock and Randy Orton so in Orton The Rock saw himself and understood the pressure that was put on him. And you got to live up to not only your father, but you’ve also got to live up to your grandfather and can you do it? Rock was willing to help him along the way.”

Going through the words quoted by Bruce, it is clear that Dwayne knew what it was like to being put in that position where you get all the damn spotlight at a very early stage of your career.

Dwayne Johnson and Randy Orton are the 3rd generation superstars.

Dwayne Johnson and Randal Keith Orton are possibly two of the biggest names you would ever hear in a convo regarding pro-wrestling. Both men are the third-generation superstars in their own rights. Preceeding them were their Hall of Fame fathers namely Rocky Johnson and ‘Cowboy’ Bob Orton who would be damn proud of their children’s achievements in WWE.

At Wrestlemania 20, The Evolution (Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Batista) defeated The Rock ‘n’ Sock connection( the team of The Rock and Mick Foley) with Orton pinning Foley after hitting him with the devastating RKO.

While Rock garnered a huge popularity during his Attitude Era days producing ever lasting memorable feuds with legends like Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker, Orton rose to mainstream popularity during his evil days during 2008-2010 where he was regarded as to be one of the best heel superstars of that era. He also became the youngest ever superstar in WWE history to win the World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam 2004 deafening Chris Benoit.

At the present scenario while The Rock remains to be highly busy in his hollywood commitments, Randy still proves to be one of WWE’s main attention draws for their shows.
