The well-executed debut of Adam Copeland, better known as Edge at AEW: WrestleDream, is still buzzing in the minds of the wrestling community. Despite his jump to a rival promotion, Edge and WWE ended up on excellent terms. Recently, the wrestling veteran revealed what went through his mind after defeating Sheamus in his final appearance for the company.

While speaking with CBS Sports, he stated that retiring from professional wrestling was a genuine possibility. “As I got closer to the end of the deal, retirement was a very, very real option. It was not off the table,” Edge said. According to him, there was no better way of topping the moment in his hometown on the August 18th edition of SmackDown.

Furthermore, the legend believes that the bout against Sheamus and the moment itself will always remain one of the most memorable nights of his career. As previously mentioned by Edge, there was not much for him to accomplish in the WWE.

Therefore, signing for AEW meant a fresh start to his career. One of the things that played a major role in his AEW signing is the presence of his longtime best friend Christian in the promotion. The Rated-R superstar will appear on this week’s edition of Dynamite.

Moreover, he is expected to address the live crowd for the first time since his debut. Edge will compete in his first match for AEW on next week’s episode against Christian’s right-hand man, Luchasaurus.

Edge reveals a shocking thing about his iconic theme song

Without a doubt, Edge has one of the most iconic entrance songs in professional wrestling. In fact, the prelude to Alter Bridge’s “Metalingus” which voices, “You think you know me,” remains an integral part of Adam Copeland’s career. After he debuted in AEW with the same theme music, fans began to speculate whether the opening vocal was that of his wife, Beth Phoenix.

Later, Edge confirmed to Bleacher Report and revealed that it is indeed the Glamazon who voices the notable opening to the song. Interestingly, the Rated-R superstar revealed that he loves working with Beth. Also, he seemingly hinted at the possibility of her joining AEW in the foreseeable future.

A legend of the caliber of Beth Phoenix would surely enhance the credibility of the Women’s division in the promotion. Moreover, she can help draw more attention to the product. Needless to say, the power couple wrestling together would prove to be an unfathomable presence on screen.
