Tenille Dashwood, aka Emma, looked in a reflective mood as she shared an interesting post on her Instagram account. Reflecting on her 2023, she opened up about her highs and lows. In doing so, she has also touched on the aspect of retiring from In-ring competition, at least for now.
Emma was released from WWE back in September due to the budget cuts. She was accompanied by Michael Carter Rallis, aka Madcap Moss. Since then, both the stars have dedicated their time to satiate their wanderlust. They also post updates with their fans online.
2023 was filled with highs and lows. The man of my dreams proposed to me and I lost dream job at the company where we first met. It was bitter sweet. While I'm not sure if I'll ever wrestle again... I'm sure that I'll turn this into a positive.Emma in her post on Instagram
Filled with gratitude, Emma reflected on how 2023 gave her a soulmate and how WWE was the place where it happened. She also expressed the uncertainty around her ring career which was started in the late 2000s.
Her brief stint with WWE, despite squaring against big names couldn’t be as memorable. Before that, she competed in Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling, where she even managed to become the Knockouts Tag Team Champion with Madison Rayne. Time will tell what is in store for the Australian star.
Reflecting on Emma’s in-ring career
Emma was one of the pioneer women in the NXT Division. Fans were in for a surprise when she made her return to answer Ronda Rousey‘s SmackDown Women’s Championship challenge in October 2022. Despite her lackluster performance in WWE, she could boast an interesting legacy as a wrestler.
She was introduced to wrestling at quite a young age by her brother Jake and started training at 13 years old. Despite making her debut as a formidable competitor in NXT, her silly dancer gimmick was on the receiving end of criticism. Around 2015, she got cemented as a comedic act with Santino Marella and could only ditch it after years, when she turned heel.
Her dating life has also been the center of attention, as she has dated the likes of Matt Cardona, and Zack Ryder. Emma was also a part of AEW’s Casino Royale Battle Royal in 2019. Tony Khan had shown deep interest but eventually, Emma decided to leave AEW for WWE.
