WWE to once again host shows in empty arenas without the WWE Universe owing to the COVID-19 scenario?
WWE has held all of its weekly shows as well as premium live events in empty arenas with no spectators because of the Covid-19 regulations that needed to be followed, for about a couple of years. Owing to this, WWE also had to host its showcase of Immortals in an empty stadium, making it a two-day event. Moreover, WWE took commercial advantage of this and has made Wrestlemanias a two-day show with it spreading all over the weekend.
It all seemed to be done as WWE brought the WWE Universe back into the arenas at Summerslam 2021 which saw the return of Brock Lesnar and was headlined by the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns and John Cena. It all seemed well and good as WWE also executed their overly hyped most stupendous Wrestlemanias of all time excellently a month back. But, is Covid-19 back?
Many WWE Superstars have missed events as a result of Covid-19
As per Dave Meltzer on the current episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, some WWE Superstars have been skipping shows recently due to COVID-19. While no names were disclosed in relation to who has tested positive for the virus, it appears that at least a couple of wrestlers have been infected. No WWE Superstars have been confirmed to have contracted COVID-19, and no wrestlers have spoken out publicly about it.
With the virus’s spread slowing, WWE is no longer actively testing its Superstars for COVID-19. Talent, on the other hand, is clearly still monitoring themselves when they start to show signs. When wrestlers test positive, the business keeps them off the shows to reduce the spread to a minimum. The talks of Covid-19 have decreased in the past few months but we cannot rule out the possibility of the virus bouncing back. With the amount of rising cases in the past few days, it wouldn’t be safe to say that we, the WWE Universe will have no obstacles in attending WWE shows in the future.
