Obviously, the veteran might have a thing or two in his mind regarding the competition between the companies at helm. AEW is another company who has been trying to give some competition to the WWE but in terms of numbers and statistics, considering its young age, the company is lagging behind.

It can be said that WWE is far ahead of its competition as it had much more time to do everything they needed to do, to become such a big company and according to Eric Bischoff, for any new company, it would take a generation to catch up. Talking to ‘Lucha Libre Online’, Eric said:

“If you talk about real competition, you have to define what that competition is. If you are just talking about competition in terms of revenues, good luck with that. WWE has such a head start; the company is so far upfront any new emerging company that it would take a generation to really catch up to the revenue. If you talk about the distribution of the product, the footprint of the brand, that too. It can happen, but it will definitely take a lot of time.”

Eric Bischoff also says that any company showing their presence in front of the WWE has a long way ahead of them:

The truth is, I got competitive with WWE when it was WWF and although they were clearly way out in front of WCW at the time, they weren’t so big that they were not vulnerable, and now they’ve become so big that while they still may be vulnerable, it’s going to take a hell of an effort to make them realize you’re there.”

“No, no, no, [Laughing]. Number one, I am a realist, as much as I enjoy performing and getting up in front of the camera and I’m always grateful to put my toe in the water, and make an appearance, that ship is sailed brother, that’s in my rearview mirror. I am grateful for it, I’m happy to get up every morning and look and look at the rear-view mirror and think about the things that I have been able to do but I’m fortunate to not feel so connected to it that I have to have that back in my life. I am really doing what I do.”
