The second match on the jam-packed card of WrestleMania Night 1 was a multi-person ladder match. While starting the match, it was clarified that both tag team championships would be held separately. Thus, it was clear from that point on that Raw and SmackDown would both have new champions. And for the WWE Universe’s sake, Raw has gotten the crowd favorite; Awesome Truth picked up the win.
New Catch Republic began the match quite dominantly and reached the top quickly. However, the forces brought together by others brought them down and began the action course. R-Truth was consistent in showing his comic style and asked The Miz for ‘a hot tag in a ladder match’ to begin with. The A-Lister agreed to it and brought Truth to offer tribute to his hero, John Cena, and do his five moves of doom.
While the other drama unfolded, A-Town Down Under was smart enough to quickly do their share of the job. Grayson Waller got onto the ladder and grabbed the SmackDown Tag Team Championship for his team. Austin Theory was thankful and celebrated with his teammate to continue their rally for Raw titles.
However, it was meant to be a WrestleMania moment for Truth, as he captured the Raw Tag Team Titles later on. Truth’s Attitude Adjustment to Damian Priest sent him out of the ring and gave him chances for those title grabs. This marks the first win for Truth at The Grandest Stage of Them All and even the first tag team titles victory for The Awesome Truth.
WWE Universe celebrates R-Truth’s WrestleMania moment
One could easily say how ‘Awesome’ Truth was in his elated run in 2024. After multiple adversities and betrayals from The Judgment Day, R-Truth has finally made it to the top. Truth was once denied by the heel faction to be a part of it but has now overcome them to win their championship.
The WWE Universe is cheering over the fact that Truth has won his first WrestleMania match. Overall, The Awesome Truth has succeeded in getting the victory over five other teams. It is surely a memorable WrestleMania moment for them both, which is being celebrated by the fans too.
The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh was involved in the process to distract the other teams from their winning goal. However, he was successfully put through the tables to eliminate any threat to the smooth-sailing ladder match. It was a hell of a match to excite the fans, moving into the next course of action here at WrestleMania XL.
